NURSING STUDENT WAIVER Application

You are eligible to bypass the NMHCA training requirement if you meet the following criteria: 
  • You are currently enrolled in a nursing program that is approved by the New Mexico Board of Nursing.
  • You have successfully completed the required basic coursework and first round of clinicals in a New Mexico state-approved nursing program within the past 24 months.
  • You must complete your testing within six months of your eligibility to test.
INSTRUCTIONS: 
  1. Complete and submit this Nursing Student Training Requirement Waiver Application.
    • Upload an image of your Transcript or document showing successful completion of the basic nursing coursework and first round of clinicals in the past twenty-four months.
  2. Once approved, you will receive an email with your Username and Temporary Password to sign in to your TMU© account.
  3. Please refer to the New Mexico Nurse Aide Candidate Handbook for instructions on Completing your Account and other important testing policies and updates.
